The Sinister Spire - GM Turn Post 6

An offensive odor, musty and sickening, suddenly intensifies to a nauseating level. A vibrating thrum, as if thousands of minuscule feet are rustling on stone, comes to a crescendo as every one of the open warren holes spews a bristling swarm of black cockroaches. Roaches quickly cover the floor. Giant cockroaches, hissing and eager to feed follow their little cousins from the warrens.

Roll initiative. Starting positions for Turn 6 are displayed on the Combat Map.

  1. I assume the roaches in M7-N8 are swarms. Are they the kind that take no damage or half damage from weapons?
Are they affected by a Sleep spell?

  2. Are the various sized roach icons symbolizing specific targets that are distinguishable from the swarm? if so, in what way?

  6. "OK, and this is the part where we teleport out of here, right? Since we waited until we had an escape route ready before we disturbed the giant bug nest? OH WAIT... " Clint commences attacking the bugs. IF they are in fact all swarms, he will toss oil... if there are roaches large enough to attack directly, he will do so.

    Init: [7] +5 = 12

    Move to attack large-enough roach
    OR
Toss oil if they are all swarmy

  8. "What, you afraid of a few bugs Clint? I guess you should tucked your pants into your boots!" Feel free to etch that onto my gravestone later if I end up eating those words.

I'm holding off on picking an action until I understand the enemies on the map.

  9. Just a few clarifying points:

    - The large bugs in I3 and M5 are medium-sized creatures.
    - The smaller bugs in C8, C9, J3 and O10 are small-sized creatures.
    - The bugs in M7, M8, N7 and N8 are a swarm of fine-sized creatures. This means they are immune to weapon damage.

All of the bugs are vermin and are immune to mind-effecting spells and effects. i.e. Sleep will not work on them.
