The Sinister Spire - Turn Results 104


Banjo fired two missiles from a Wand of Magic Missiles at the shardcaster. The spell penetrated the construct’s spell resistance and dealt 5 damage. Kirlic stepped to his left and attacked twice with his curved blade. Both attacks struck true dealing 15 and 2 damage respectively through the monster’s damage reduction.

Thustan stepped closer and channeled positive energy to heal the party. This healed Clint to full and removed 8 damage from Dargoth and Kirlic. Mr. Wolfe attacked with his bite which hit and dealt 7 damage. Clint attacked with both of his weapons. The attack from Merthύvial missed but the blow from Organripper landed and found a weakness in the shardcaster. The sneak attack dealt 17 damage past the construct’s damage reduction.

Dargoth stepped forward and power attacked twice with his bastard sword. The first attack hit but the second missed. The blow dealt 13 damage after the damage reduction.

The shardcaster attacked Clint with both of its slam attacks but it missed the rogue with both. The tentacle behind Clint attacked the elf. It missed. The tentacle behind Kirlic attacked the ranger but also missed.

The Sinister Spire - Turn Results 103


Banjo drew a replacement wand of Magic Missiles and targeted the glass spider. The spell hit the construct dealing 7 damage and destroyed it. Kirlic dropped his bow and drew his sword as he tumbled forward to attack the shardcaster. Though nimble, Kirlic was not nimble enough. The large construct attacked the elf as he approached. The slam attack hit dealing 11 damage. The wounded elf attacked back scoring a strong hit dealing 10 damage past the construct’s damage reduction.

Thurstan also stepped closer to the shardcaster and channeled positive energy to heal the party. The channel healed Thurstan and Clint to full and removed 15 damage from Kirlic. Mr. Wolfe moved acrobatically to flank the monster and attack with his bite. The wolf’s attack missed. Clint tumbled past the tentacle in a clumsy manner but it missed the rogue by a mile. The rogue slashed with Merthύvial and hit with the King’s sword. The attack dealt 9 damage path the creature’s damage reduction. Dargoth stepped forward and made two power attacks with his bastard sword. The first hit but the second missed the mark. The fighter dealt 16 damage through the damage reduction.

The shard caster stepped backward toward the mirrors and attacked Kirlic and Dargoth. Both slams hit dealing 11 and 9 damage respectively. The tentacle next to the rogue slammed Clint and dealt 7 damage. The tentacle next to the ranger missed Kirlic with its slam attack.

The Sinister Spire - Turn Results 102


Banjo used his wand of Magic Missile again and targeted the glass spider. Unfortunately the spell failed to penetrate the construct’s spell resistance. It was also the last charge on the wand reducing it to nothing more than a fancy stick. Kirlic pulled out a thunderstone and tossed it to the far side of the room. Clint avoided the effect of the thundering boom but Dargoth was deafened. The attack had no impact on the glass spider or shardcaster. Kirlic’s ranged attack provoked and attack from the large construct. The shardcaster used its long reach to swipe at the ranger but the attack of opportunity missed the mark.

The glass spider attempted to bite Clint but it missed the rogue. The construct stepped closer to the mirrors between the rogue and fighter. Thurstan channeled positive energy to healing himself and Clint 14 damage and healing Dargoth and Kirlic to full. Mr. Wolfe stepped forward and attacked the glass spider with its bite but missed.

Clint attacked the spider with both of his weapons. He hit with both but was not able to damage the creature as it currently faced him. The deafened Dargoth attacked the spider twice with his bastard sword. Both blows landed and dealt 18 damage total through the construct’s damage reduction. The second blow was enough to shatter the monster.

The tentacle nearest Clint swiped at the rogue but missed. The other flailed for a target. The shardcaster let loose another volley of shards targeting Thurstan, Kirlic, Dargoth and Clint. The shards missed Thurstan and Dargoth but scored a vicious hit for 17 damage to Kirlic and grazed Clint for 6 damage. A damaged spider emerged from the mirror in front of Thurstan and fired a glass shard at the cleric which missed wide.

Banjo activated one of his wands of Magic Missile and targeted the damaged spider. The wand sent two missiles toward the target but the spell failed to penetrate the construct’s spell resistance. Kirlic fired his bow again, sending three arrows toward the damaged spider. Two arrows struck the target, dealing 8 damage through the damage reduction.

The spider behind Clint attacked the rogue with its bite but missed. Thurstan targeted the wounded spider with a lightning arc. The spell-like effect penetrated the spell resistance and dealt 7 damage. Mr. Wolfe stepped to the corner and attacked the spider in front of it. The wolf’s bite struck home and dealt 9 damage.

Clint targeted the spider behind him with Merthύvial and Organripper. Both blows landed dealing 23 damage past the construct’s damage reduction. Dargoth also power attacked the same spider twice with his bastard sword. The first blow landed and dealt 11 damage through the damage reduction.

The tentacle nearest Clint swiped at the rogue. The attack hit and dealt 9 damage. The other tentacle had no target. The shardcaster stepped closer to the center of the room and filed a glass shard at Thurstan, a glass shard at Kirlic and two at Dargoth. All for ranged attacks struck their intended targets dealing 11 damage to the cleric, 11 damage to the ranger and 13 total damage to the fighter. The remaining spider attacked Clint with its bite but missed the rogue. The spider then stepped back into the glass of the mirror.

After the commotion was heard, Banjo entered the room, assessed the situation and cast Scorching Ray at the Glass Spider closest to Clint. The spell hit its target and powered through the construct’s spell resistance, dealing 16 damage. Clint stepped forward with a grumbling resolve and swung his weapons at the Glass Spider. The blow from Merthύvial scored a devastating strike, dealing 20 damage past the monster’s damage reduction. The strike from Organ Ripper missed. Kirlic stepped to his right and fired three arrows at the same Glass Spider. Two arrows found the mark and dealt a total of 8 damage after the damage reduction.

The other spider fired a glass shard at Thurstan. The projectile struck the cleric, dealing 5 damage. The monster then moved around behind Clint. Thurstan stepped to his right and targeted the spider with a lightning arc. The spell-like ability struck its target with spectacular result. The attack dealt 17 damage through the spell resistance. Mr. Wolfe heeded his master’s call and moved across the room to attack the Glass Spider behind Clint. The wolf snapped at the construct but failed to land its bite. Dargoth entered the room and moved to the aid of Clint.

The Shardcaster gestured and two glass tentacles sprouted from two different mirrors. The first lashed at Clint but missed the rogue. The second did not have a target. The large construct stepped closer to Clint and Dargoth and attacked the rogue with its two sharp fists. The first on missed but the second landed dealing 14 damage. The remaining spider stepped to the side and attacked Clint with its bite but missed.

The Sinister Spire - Turn Results 99


Thurstan stepped into the room and cast Detect Magic. Each of the mirrors registered a moderate aura of divination magic. Clint entered the room and checked for traps along the perimeter of the room. The elf did not find anything along his path so far. Kirlic entered and stood by the stairs while the rogue did his work. All averted their eyes from looking directly at the mirrors.

Dargoth prepared a blind using his cloak and shield to stop him from looking at the mirrors but waited just out of the room. Mr. Wolfe and Banjo waited patiently for the all clear to be given.

After a minute of investigation, something happens.

The northern mirror in the westernmost alcove grinds as glass extrudes from it. Two mirrors flanking that recess make similar but quieter noises. A hulking figure formed of glass emerges quickly into the western alcove. Glass spiders boil forth from the flanking mirrors. As they rise, their translucent interiors glow with a faint blue luminescence.

I know that everyone is busy. Please try to post when you get a chance.

We have really slowed down on the number of turns that we have been able to complete. We do not need to maintain a breakneck speed but my goal is to keep the game moving.
