Magruug to a 5-foot step back and slashed his scimitar at Clint. The blow missed the elf.

Dargoth moved forward and attacked the varag. A mighty swing of his bastard sword connected for 15 damage. Banjo considered moving but determined that there was no way around the cover. The sorcerer used the power of his magic ring to summon forth another Scorching Ray. This time the spell struck home dealing 12 damage. Leera continued her song and looked for a way to be of more help.

Thurstan stepped forward and attacked the prone Varag 1. His rapier ran his target trough for 14 damage and killed the monster. The wolf looked at his master awaiting further instructions as it eyed the sleeping Varag 2.

Another New Dice Roller

The original dice roller may be gone for good. The site appears to be gone. I will leave it around for a while in case it come back.

In the meantime, I found another that should work better than the alternate one. I moved it to the top.

Magruug moved east along the wall into the area of straw, leaped over 10 feet and continued to move toward the corner. The varag fired an arrow at Banjo hitting the sorcerer for 11 damage.

Dargoth followed the leader. He paid for his choice by being slashed by the scimitar of prone Varag 1 for 6 damage as he pursued Magruug. The fighter also stepped upon some caltrops taking another point of damage and slowing his approach. The fight was able to close with the varag but not launch an attack.

Banjo cast a Scorching Ray spell but missed the mark as Magruug was now in melee with Dargoth. Leera continued her song while Thurstan’s wolf continued to chew upon Varag 1 for 7 more damage.

Thurstan channeled positive energy to heal wounded the party members by 11. The magic healing also removed the movement damage caused by the caltrops to Clint and Dargoth.

Varag 1 attemped to attack Clint from the ground but missed pathetically as the wolf continued to shake him. Clint ignored the hapless creature and closed with Magruug. The rogue narrowly missed with a swing of his longsword.

Magruug moved across the room toward the waterfall and let loose with an arrow from his composite shortbow. The arrow found its mark dealing 15 damage to Clint.

Dargoth moved past the statue and Thurstan’s wolf to attack the prone Varag 1 with his bastard sword. The blow landed dealing 11 damage to the monster. Banjo cast a sleep spell on Varag 2 putting the monster back to sleep before it could rise from its bedroll. Leera continued her bard song and moved into the room to stand by Banjo.

Thurstan’s wolf bit Varag 1 for 6 damage. Thurstan moved closer to the fight my carefully scanning the straw for hidden dangers and navigating through difficult terrain.

The prone Varag 1 lashed out at Clint from the ground with his scimitar. The strike landed for 4 damage, narrowly missing a vital area on the elf’s leg. Clink swung back in surprise but the rogue missed his mark.

Dice Roller having issues

It appears that the dice roller is having issues again. I moved the alternate roller to the top until the issue is resolved.

The middle varag jumped to his feet and shouted his companions from sleep.

Dargoth, Banjo, Thurstan and his wolf moved into the room as Leera began to sing her magical song. The varags woke in alarm but were still groggy. Clint charged the nearest one, chopping at the prone monster with a two-handed slash from his longsword. The blow landed dealing 14 damage.

Need player input

I need a turn post from Matt F. I also need initiatives from Bruce and Dave.

Clint waited for Dargoth and Thurstan to finish clearing a path through the rubble.

Once he received the signal that the path was clear, Clint entered the straw covered area. Luck was not with the elf as he stepped upon a concealed caltrop. The rogue took one damage and his speed was reduced to half. Clint’s stifled shout of pain was enough to wake the center Varag.

The monster shouted to wake his companions.

Barrow of the Forgotten King - Turn Results 92

Dargoth and Thurstan quietly moved stacked blocks of stone from the doorway. The fighter and cleric have managed to clear about half of the rubble so far.

Banjo cast a Detect Magic spell but found nothing new. He asked Leera, “This looks like some sort of animal pen. Any idea what the pet was?”

The half-elf answered, “I am not sure. Xeron keeps a choker as a pet, and he also kept a tattooed horror that’s something like a hound. Both of these were left to guard the way we came in. The runehound, as Xeron called it, is on the surface.”

Clint quietly moved forward to examine the fissure and to look further into the western section of the room. The fissure is wide and long but not very deep. To the west the rogue saw a rushing waterfall and …

Just beyond the pile of rocks is a wide room full of mist and moisture. Directly ahead are three sarcophagi, their lids removed obviously to provide material to block the doorway. To the west is a wide crack in the floor, near which stand three weathered statues of human warriors leaning on longswords and bearing shields. Straw is spread thinly on the floor just beyond the fissure.

The sound of roaring water comes from the west. The remainder of the room is currently out of sight from where the rogue stands.

After assessing the situation and examining the area for traps and finding none, Clint carefully and quietly climbed over the top of the rock pile to investigate the other side.

Dargoth moved forward to occupy the open space and prepared to help Thurstan clear the rocks.

Banjo and Leera waited expectantly for something to happen.

... and we are back

As 4 out of 5 of us have returned from Gen Con (and I have no more trips planned for a while) it is time to get this game back on a roll.

That said, I still need a post from Matt Hampton so that I can post the next turn.
