Banjo mutters:
ReplyDelete"Uh oh."
Erm... does he radiate magic?
ReplyDeleteYes. He radiates magic.
ReplyDeleteClint pulls back the curtain and strides into the room (move to G9) and turns to face the Regal Figure... and in my most diplomatic tone - "Greetings, your majesty... we come here today on the trail of some villains, and wondered if you might know where they may be?" All the while scanning the room for any details or interesting objects... any signs that others have been here before, recently....?
ReplyDeleteRolls:
[16] [14] [10] [17] [14]
Thurstan, Wolfe at his heels, boldly follows Clint (for moral support) into the room, but knows enough to remain silent while Clint works his stuff.
ReplyDeleteG9 is on the western portion of the room. I assume that Clint was planning to enter the eastern part. (The throne occupies P2 and Q2.)
ReplyDeleteIf you are moving into the room, please provide the path of travel and destination coordinates.
Thurstan follows Clints steps, 5' behind him, and remains in the square behind Clint once he stops. Mr Wolfe squeezes to stand in my square, if possible (5' behind if not possible).
ReplyDeleteDOH.... Uhmm... I can read, honest. Q9... straight line from where I stand.
ReplyDeleteThe man on the throne responds, "They might be anywhere. How is one to tell? I can imagine many places they might be but they are not here. Do you think it is likely they would have escaped my notice?"
ReplyDeleteThere are no apparent signs of the robbers. The only items of interest are the dias and throne, the statues and the coffers along the east wall.
(See the revised map.)
OOC
ReplyDeleteI prolly missed something amongst the clues but isnt this the guy that killed the good king and took his throne? Or was that king not all that? Im just trying to figure out if our characters know he's a villain or not.
Im sure the Lawful Greedy among us have wondered at the contents of those coffers, too.
still concentrating on detect magic, BTW.
ReplyDeleteDave,
ReplyDeleteIt seems that way from the images you were recently shown as you walked through the previous rooms. The Statue of the King on the surface does not look like this guy either (more like the blonde king from the images).
"I am Bonjerus Valerae, of the Valerae wizards of Cheliax. What is your name, good sir?"
ReplyDeleteKirlic
ReplyDeleteHanging back, letting the conversation progress.
GM Turn Post #126
A look of anger and resentment come over the face of the man on the throne. It looks as if he had tried to say something but stops short. After a short pause to collect himself he says to you, "You are not worthy to hear it spoken!"
ReplyDelete"Well then, let me introduce you to my nephew, RAYMOND!"

Kirlic steps through the curtain. He bows his head, and does his best to use a diplomatic voice, though he knows he was made into a soldier for his lack of it...
"Kirlic Valenwood, ambassador from the Elven Kingdom to the Dwarves. Perhaps we did not have the right to ask your name, as you did not offer it to us."
"However, on our way to you a story with great conflict was shown to us. Can you tell us why these walls tell such a sad tale to those who visit?"
OOC: Can't delete my previous post, decided I had something to add after all. Kirlic wasn't an ambassador as much as 'on loan' to the dwarves for a common conflict. Details. :)
Misc rolls: 18,4,6,14,5,5,7,15,11,20
ReplyDeleteDave,
ReplyDeleteI assume you are planning on using your Arcane Bond to cast the Scorching Ray. That will be you last one until you reset.
You will get the surprise action. Combat will start for everyone with initiative after that. Can you please break down your damage for me? Did you roll 20 and add one for Point Blank Shot?
Where were you standing when you made the attack. I need to know which square so that I can construct the map.
Hell dude I forgot about PBS when I rolled. It would be 22 then (yeah 21 on 4d6).
ReplyDeleteI was saving that last Raymond for something scary. Banjo is scared, but look how he hides it!
I would be standing in P9, next to Clint.
To get PBS Banjo will need to be in P8. I have Clint in Q9. Thurstan is in Q10 and the wolf is in P10 (If I understood the instructions correctly.) I need positions for Kirlic and Dargoth.
ReplyDeleteTo hell with PBS. I'll not voluntarily be the closest guy to the monster.
