Feedback Requested: How is the game going?

Now that we have completed a role playing/non-combat turn and a combat encounter, I am interested to see what everyone thinks.

What do you like? What do you not like? Are there any improvements that you would like to see?

How is the pace? Is three turns the right amount? (It seems like it to me but I was wondering from the player perspective.) Are you getting enough information in the turn posts?

  1. I think there should be a post combat round or two, speaking as the healer, that is.

The pace seems good, that is if Keith takes turns for people that can't get them done in time. And its good to know that there's a time limit, so Keith knows when to when to move the game on.

The main thing I miss is the character discussion, on tactics, tacts, thoughts, and such. We could email, blog, text, or whatever, but I miss this part of the game. Maybe this venue isn't conducive to it, at least at the speed/rate we play.

I am getting enough info in the posts.

But as healer I like to keep track of damage suffered, so as to plan my own actions. If the 'combat results' were bullet pointed, it would make it read easier for me. I end up re-reading the narative several times to get it all sorted out in my head(and on paper).

But overall I like how it's going.

  2. Good to hear that you are enjoying it overall.

Post-combat, the characters can certainly take time to do multiple things. This turn could be such an opportunity. I presented a combat map to show the area but the characters are not currently following initiative order.

If you are looking for information regarding the characters, I do post a file on the web site. I keep track of damage, spells cast, abilities used and effects in progress.

The file is found in the attchments section of http://sites.google.com/site/zombiehomepage/Home/zombie-s-d-d-pathfinder-page/pathfinder-play-by-blog. It is all the way at the bottom.

I encourage player discussion and questions. I will do my best to answer so that you can make your decisions prior to the turn deadline. I would encourage players to post questions and comments related to a turn in that turn's thread. Things outside of that should be posted as a new thread.

I can bullet the results if you like. I have been doing that myself to be able to write the narative and update the character file. I guess that I could do both. I can always post the narative to the blog and the details to the website in a file form. If that would help, it is not much more work to accomplish.

  3. Even though I missed a bit I have been enjoying this as well. I too miss the player interaction. Should we do this via open emails or is there a way to do it here?

  4. What do you mean by "open e-mails"?

Everything that the players posts in these threads are visible to all players.

  5. I think comments here, chatting amongst ourselves, would be a good way to firm up our tactics. I think I instinctively planned my actions in that first encounter without much chatter without thinking about it - going forward I think I will not be so preoccupied with getting my turn in OMG NOW but maybe posting questions to the rest of the party first - "Who is going to take that Wolf on the left" or "I'll be over here guarding the treasure chest while you guys finish off that Ogre Magi"... :)

  6. its kind of easy for dave and i, controlling 2 characters(flanking, etc), but we should talk more.

my only thing is that if people take too long to respond, it will make everything bog down.

maybe texting, or emails would be faster. i dont know...ideas?
