Jean and Torvald continue to guard the west door.
Thurstan moves forward for a closer examination of the door with the beholder image. He tries to press the eyes like buttons without effect. He and Banjo consult over what a beholder can do and start trying to match the images to those powers and the lines of the poem. They recall that a beholder has the abilities to Charm Monster, Charm Person, Disintegrate, Fear, Finger of Death, Flesh to Stone, Inflict Moderate Wounds, Sleep, Slow, Telekinesis from their eye stalks and Dispel Magic from the central eye.
Clint allows the sorcerer and the cleric continue to examine that door and he moves back to the door to the south and examines it again. Blunderbuss moves aside to allow the rogue access. After another examination, the elf shrugs and pulls the found keys from his pocket. One fits and he tries the lock. It turns and the door opens.
