The Sinister Spire - GM Turn Post 81

This small stone chamber is an almost perfect cube. Other than the spiral stairs down, two staircases ascend on the west side of the room, one attached to the northern wall and the other to the southern. At the top of each stairway is a stone door with a heavy iron bar across it. The space between the two flights form a sort of passage, but that way ends in a bare wall.

  1. Dargoth,

So the Iron Bars are they to keep something in or out? Is my first thought.

I am guessing we pick one or both and go. Hoping they are the same room beyond.

    Thoughts?

  2. Seeing as how the bars are on this side I would guess it's to keep things out. I would guess they are to the same room... that would let us half-pincer what's on the other side.

Follow the meatsheilds. Look sullen. Roll my eyes a lot. Detect Magic.

  3. Clint will hop down into C4 and check out the bare wall to make sure its really bare, and not concealing another secret... if that turns out to be a dead end, he will hop back up to B4 and check THAT door for traps ... followed by checking D4 for traps, and if clear, giving the all clear sign.

    1. Clint does indeed find a secret door on the western wall of C4.

    2. The secret door does not appear to be trapped nor locked. It looks to open into the area beyond.

The doors in B4 and D4 do not appear trapped or locked but they are obviously barred from this side. Once the bar is removed, the doors appear to open into the room that you are currently investigating.

(sorry, been distracted and busy lately, if I hold things up again and my input isn't critical, feel free to advance without a post from me. I'll try to keep up though)

  7. Clint will cautiously open the door and look inside; should there be no immediate obvious threats, he will move into the room and step out of the doorway to get out of the way.

    1. Which door? The secret door or one of the barred doors?
