Banjo moved to the edge of the pit and cast Detect Magic. No magic was detected. Dargoth also moved to the pit and lowered a rope. Thurstan and his wolf returned from down the passageway. The cleric cast Lesser Restoration of Dargoth, healing the fighter 2 CON.
Thurstan then climbed down the rope to tend to the discovered half elf. The cleric cast Cure Light Wounds healing the woman 9 damage. The healing was enough to bring her to consciousness.
The half elf stirred and looked up at Thursatn. “Thank you for your aid. My name is Leera.”
While his companions tended to the pit victim, Clint headed down the passageway to examine the hobgoblin body. The remains were equipped with ruined studded leather armor, a longsword, a light wooden shield and an amulet. Looking up from his looting, Clint noticed activity in the room beyond.
Each statue spit from its mouth a tiny creature that looks like nothing more than animated smoke with luminous eyes and a humanoid form. The chests of both statues opened. From the one in the southeast leaped a small, vaguely humanoid creature that looks like it’s made of stone, but covered in dark spatters and has burning eyes. Each of its four appendages is a long spike. On two of these it runs on with good speed. To the northwest, a black, metallic, animal-like creature tumbled from the statue, its four paw-like limbs used to run and support its oversized jaws, which are filled with sharp teeth. This creature, too, has dried blood all over it, and both of the constructs appear to have suffered damage from an earlier battle.
