Once good-byes are said, the remaining party decides to climb down the ladder.
After a long climb into this apparently natural chamber, you reach a wide ledge. A knotted rope is affixed to the ledge’s north edge by a large iron spike. The faint sound of running water reaches you from below.
A knotted rope descends into the darkness.

Clint gently moves Thurstan aside, pats the wolf on the head, and makes his way down, first... Upon reaching the bottom, he conducts a search for any clues RE: who put these ladders here? Are they very old? Do they look relatively freshly assembled here? And are there any traps remaining? Assuming a thorough search is made, he moves on to the next, and the next...

As Thurstan is of Neutral alignment rather than Good, he only receives the hit point benefit from the pool. As he was fully healed, he gains no benefit at this time. (If he was of Good alignment it would have reset "blats".)
ReplyDeleteThe rope ladders and ropes are new. They do not appear to have been here more than a few days. There are no traps found on the first pillar or rope.
Is Clint attempting to climb the ropes to check the whole way across the cavern before the rest of the group tries?
Updated Thurstan's alignment based on conversation with Bruce. He too reaps the benefits of drinking the pool water.
ReplyDeleteHaving neither a high Climb or Perception to boast of, Banjo and his massive charisma will wait til Clint declares each platform menace-free before climbing down... probably behind the fighter.
