The Sinister Spire - GM Turn Post 124

The first statue to the left (B8) is of a female drow with hands out and palms upward. The hands are clearly flesh.

The first statue to the right (D8) is of an angelic being preparing to take flight. Its wings are still soft and covered in white feathers.

The middle left statue (B6) is of a male duergar with hammer raised. Its eyes appear to be alive and they squirm wildly within the stone sockets.

The middle right statue (D6) is of two drow children point upward with expressions of awe. Their pointing finger still wriggle.

The last statue on the left (B4) is of a male drow crouched low like a hound. His ears and nose are still flesh.

The last statue on the right (D4) is of a female drow balanced on one foot. Her mouth is still flesh and it is from here that the trill issues from.

The corridor widens ahead into a 15 x 15 room with a door in the center of each of the three remaining walls. A statue sit in each corner. Full datails will not be available until the room has been entered.

  1. Ask Clint to do a search for traps. These statues are giving me the willies. Thinking they are real people with a Turn to Stone spell, but then smaller parts were changed back.

I think I am going to pull my smoked glasses out of my pack and have ready to put on.

Ask for Detect Magic / Life.

  2. What is my visibility/bow range down the shaft? I'm expecting that I can't see much further than c9 because of the lower floor's ceiling, but I might be surprised by a high ceiling. Until I have reason to do otherwise, I hold my ground up above, and just watch and listen around me.

    1. Pretty much you can only see down the shaft to C10. If something were in C9 you would be able to target it but with a cover penalty.

  3. "Their WHAT is still fleshy?? Iomedae's innards, I gotta see this."

Good call on the smoked goggles D. Banjo will slip his goggles over his head and let them dangle around his neck, then climb down to examine the statues, casting Identify if he gets a chance.

  5. Clint will also get his smoked goggles out and have them at the ready around his neck... He advances to C3 but does not enter until one of his magic-detecting friends gets a better look and sense of things. Search for traps as I advance up the hallway.

  6. Still detecting magic here. Checking statues. Wary of movement and ready to avert my eyes, my lord.
