Barrow of the Forgotten King - GM Turn Post 83

Begin Combat Round 5.

Starting positions for Turn 83 are displayed on the Combat Map.

Conditions:

Characters in the water – With successful Swim Check (DC 10) - takes a –2 penalty on all attack rolls, ½ damage with slashing and bludgeoning. Full damage with piercing.

Off Balance – With a failed Swim Check - takes a –2 penalty on all attack rolls, ½ damage with slashing, bludgeoning and piercing. No Dex bonus to AC and -2 AC.

Under Water – Must hold breat. May hold breath for number of rounds = CONx2. For each standard or full-round action, this number is reduced by 1. Once rounds expire, character begins to drom. DC10 CON check (+1 to DC each round). Upon failure, character is unconscious (0 hp). Next round go to -1 hp and begin dying. A creature that cannot breathe water must make a concentration check (DC 15 + spell level) to cast a spell underwater.

Nauseated - Creature can only take a move action and cannot attack, cast spells, or concentrate.

Dargoth: -7 CON – Max hit points dropped to 33.

Thurstan’s Wolf: -1 CON – Max hit points dropped to 32.


The large leech images are swarms of smaller leeches.

Dark Gray is the labyrinth floor.
Textured Dark Gray is rubble.
Light Gray is the cavern floor and spire tops.
Blue is water.
Light Green is where magic was detected.
Labyrinth floor is 20 feet above the cavern floor/water.
Spires are 10 feet above the water.

  1. Clint hollers to the Banjo - "Hang on, I'm coming with the rope!" ... and proceeds to run back to the wall he came down, motions his fellow adventurers to lend a hand, climbs up, and sprints over to try and pull his comrades up...

    I want to direct them to the area of S9, which will hopefully keep them ahead of the swarm, and should give me another turn to get there with the rope...?

    Comments please?

    Action: Move to I14, climb wall, sprint to S9, lower rope... realizing this probably isnt going to happen in one round, but want to explain my whole plan in case there are good reasons to change my mind...?

  2. Dargoth - If I am still Nauseated I guess I am going to do nothing. Or If I can stay on the ledge move to J14 (Staying out of the water).

    If able to do action. Would like to carry plan out from what seems like ten (10) turns ago. Light Flask of oil and toss to break so it will light the swarm on fire.

  4. The wolf can swim the other way without an issue. It will be in square I14 instead (on dry land).
