Thurstan cast Detect Poison and examined the pool. No poison was detected and the water was only about a foot deep. Banjo continued to concentrate on his Detect Magic spell. Still no magic was detected.
While the rest of the party examined the room, Clint climbed up the rope ladder. He climbed up over 60 feet before he was surprised by a pair of tentacles from the darkness. The two appendages struck the rogue for a total of 16 damage and wrapped around Clint’s neck. The tentacles constricted for another 5 damage as the rogue struggled silently to break free.
Just after the rogue had moved past the range of his darkvision, Blunderbuss noticed that the ladder had gone loose and suspected something had gone wrong. With a shout, the barbarian started to climb the ladder to investigate.
