Barrow of the Forgotten King - GM Turn Post 34

Shattered stone and fresh dirt cover the slick floor of this devastated chamber. Judging by the remnants of masonry and floor tiles, the area was once part of the tomb complex. A rope ladder hangs near the broken door, leading up into the darkness. Just beyond it to the east, the slippery floor gives way to a shallow pool.

Banjo still does not detect any new magic.

What do you do?

See Combat Map for current positions.

  1. Clint takes a careful search of the room, keeping an eye on the pool, and the rope ladder... "someone want to see how deep that is?" If a search turns up nothing, he will climb up the ladder as quietly as he can...

  2. Thurstan casts detect poison and checks the water.

Then drops a rock into the water, to try and determine the depth.

Is the water standing still, or is there flow?

    Clear, not clear?

  5. The pool is only about a foot deep. No poison is detected.

The rope ladder appears sturdy and ascends into a dark shaft. The ladder looks new and the shaft appears to have been recently dug. The shaft extends farther than can be seen with normal or dark vision.
