Both targeted Dargoth and both missed the fighter as he sheathed his sword, drew his spear and moved forward in a business-like fashion.

Clint moved closer to the barricade shouting and waving Merthύvial. His actions caused the Kuo-Toa to the left to become shaken while the one to the right appeared to chuckle. Thurstan moved closer and targeted the laughing monster with a lightning arc dealing 8 damage.

Shaking his head, Banjo stepped closer and cast a Magic Missile spell at the formerly laughing Kuo-Toa. The spell hit the monster dealing 13 damage. N’Kima pulled the sticky shield from his claw and moved forward behind Turok and Dargoth. Mr. Wolfe moved ahead and leaped the barrier. The shaken Kuo-Toa hit the wolf with it spear dealing 5 damage. The Sinister Spire - GM Turn Post 17

A gray, pudgy humanoid that has willowy limbs and flipper-like hands and feet bounds from the shadows, its fishlike head sporting bulbous eyes. It carries a spear and a large shield, and the smell of rotten fish hangs in the air around it. With a gurgling snarl, it leaps to attack as its skin flushes red.

The Sinister Spire – Turn Results 16

A search of the Skum yields only 4 tridents. A search of the immediate underwater area by Turok revealed a few large cavities under the water’s surface. They were apparently the lairs of the Skum. A search of them revealed a small, locked coffer and a magical pearl found within a drow skull. Clint managed to open the coffer and found that it contained 96 GP and a sealed vial of magical dust. Banjo identified the dust as Dust of Dryness. The he also determined that the pearl is:

Pearl of Undercommon

Aura moderate divination; CL 7th
Slot head; Price 600 gp; Weight

Description:

When you place a Pearl of Undercommon upon your tongue (a standard action), it is absorbed into your mouth until you speak the command word “blacktongue” to release it. While it remains absorbed, the pearl grants you the ability to speak and understand Undercommon. In addition, while the pearl is active, it can be used to produce a command effect once per day (Will DC 11 negates).

Construction:

Requirements Craft Wondrous Item, command, tongues; Cost 300 gp

(Items have been recorded on the Treasure tab of the character summary but I will need to know who will be carrying/using what.)

Banjo and Clint spoke to both the fighter and the cleric. The sorcerer/rogue duo were able to convince them that they would be better able to complete their goal after a vistit to town. They assured them that rest, equipment and information awaited them ahead. Securing the mind controlled Dargoth and Thurstan in the middle of their marching order, the party continued along the Oceanbridge. Near the end of the bridge, the party gets their first clear view of the city of Pedestal.

The wide, sloping base of a massive column is built up with streets, walls, and hundreds of elaborate structures. A few glimmer with faint illumination, and here and there, lanterns shed green illumination in small pools separated by gulfs of shadow. Portions of the small city are completely collapsed and obviously abandoned, though others show clear signs of habitation and upkeep. A great wall surrounds the lowest edges of the city, and upon that edifice, hundreds of rusty spikes point toward the cavern’s high ceiling. Rotting heads adorn scores of those spikes.
(See Map of Pedestal in PBB References section.)

The road continues to the south of the city. After a few hundred feet the road passes a gate,

Dark stones sag over an open gatehouse. The gaping arch reveals a rubble-strewn roadway, a low barricade of pile debris, and an ominous cityscape beyond, where shadowed buildings lean above sloping cobbled lanes illuminated by green light from glowing lanterns.

Dargoth struggled against Turok in vain as the druid maintained his grapple. Clint move further down the Oceanbridge and remained watchful and vigilant waiting for danger to rear its head once more. Banjo moved to the center block where Clint had been standing.

Thurstan and Mr. Wolfe continued to struggle. The wolf kept the cleric from swimming away. Kirlic descended back to the Oceanbridge and move to join the others. Turok held Dargoth until he could be plucked out of his grasp by N’Kima. The ape quickly followed suit with Thurstan.

No further signs of the Aboleth were seen.

Need Player Input

I need a few more player responses before I can post results and the next turn.

I think I am still looking for posts from Matt H and Brad. From Bruce, I need a CMB roll and a swim roll for Thurstan.

General question: What are your plans for your mind controlled companions once you get them out of the water?

Dargoth attempted to break free of Turok but failed. The Aboleth disappeared under the water. Clint shouldered his bow and made a tumbling leap past the remaining skum and landed upon the second free-floating block. Skum attacked Thurstan with its trident, claw and bite. The trident hit for 4 damage but the claw and bite missed.

Banjo pulled out a Magic Missile wand and targeted the Skum with both missiles. They bot hit dealing a total of 7 damage. Thurstan cocked his head and shouted out “Gozreh!?!” before withdrawing into the water. The cleric started swimming toward where the Aboleth was last seen. Mr. Wolfe Jumped into the water and grappled Thurstan to pull him from the water while trying to maintain his head above water.

Kirlic fired two arrows with a rapid shot at the Skum. Both hit dealing 18 damage total and killed the Skum. Turok maintained the grapple with Dargoth and moved the fighter next to the first floating block. N’Kima 5-foot stepped toward Dargoth and attempted to grab the fighter but missed.

Dice Roller issues

Dice Roller is being flakey again. I moved one of the alternates up to the top of page position. I am not sure if the other one will come back or not. I will leave it at the bottom for a while and we will see.

And we're back ...

Sorry again for the delays in turn posting. I have been very busy at work and I have not had a lot of down time when I am home. I will do my best to get at least a few turns processed each week. We are already on a better track than last year at this time so I will chalk that up as improvement.

The Sinister Spire – Turn Results 13

Dargoth swam closer to the Aboleth. The Aboleth turned its attention toward the Thurstan and targeted him with a spell. Thurstan began hearing whispering voices in his head. The cleric strained to hear what they were saying but could not yet make out what the word were.

Clint targeted the Skum next to Thurstan with his longbow. The rogue’s arrow hit the target for 3 damage. The Skum attacked Thurstan with its trident, claw and bite. All three attacks missed the cleric.

Banjo cast a Scorching Ray at the Skum next to Thurstan. The spell hit dealing 18 damage to the monster. Thurstan stepped closer to Clint and Banjo and Channeled Positive Energy healing Mr. Wolfe and N’Kima of 5 damage and himself and Banjo to full. Mr. Wolfe maneuvered and attacked the Skum between it and N’Kima with its bite. The attack hit dealing 2 damage but failed to tripped the foe. The Skum attacked N’Kima with its trident, claw and bite. All three attacks missed the ape.

Kirlic fired two arrows with a rapid shot at the Aboleth. The first hit but the second missed. Seeing the arrow “damage” the monster and the continued urgings from Banjo and Clint allowed the ranger to see through the illusion. Turok in squid-form started a grapple with Dargoth to prevent the fighter from moving any closer to the Aboleth. N’Kima power attacked the Skum in front of him with his bite. The attack hit dealing a devastating 28 damage which killed the Skum. The ape stepped closer to get the remaining Skum within his reach.
