Map Key:
Gray is the floor.
White rectangles are doors.
White rectangle with dotted line is a secret door.
This just keeps getting tighter.
ReplyDeleteHow about we check out the secret door at the end first? It's the only door that stands out as being special, and we can keep the congo line going.

I am on board with that plan.

Clint asks the party to hold on for a moment, and then goes to work checking the secret door for traps/locks/listening... While he is at it, he checks the regular doors on either side.

The secret door is not trapped. It is locked and Clint was not able to open it on the first try. He did not hear anything on the other side.
ReplyDeleteThe doors to the left and right do appear to be trapped and neither is locked. No sounds are heard from either.
Clint has the skill to open the secret door it will just take some time. (Magical assistance might also be helpful.)
Clint addresses the party; "well guys... Bad news, good news, and bad news... the doors on either side here are trapped. the secret door I spotted, is not. but its locked, and its going to take me a little bit of time to work it out... "

How I envision assisting a lockpicker:
ReplyDeleteClint *struggling w/lock*
Thurstan "Keep Trying."
Clint *lockpick snaps*
Thurstan "Your pick broke"
Clint selects a new pick
Thurstan "Really? That one?
Clint "You're standing in my light."
Thurstan "I'm helping.
:)
Sorry. I made a typo. The doors to the left and right are not trapped. They are trap free.
ReplyDeleteClint is able to get the secret door open on the second try.
The door opens to a passage leading to the right which opens into a small room. A set of wroght iron stairs winds up into the darkness. Clint is able to detect another secret door on the far side of the room oposite the stairs.
